Did you know you can valet park at the State Fair of Texas?
How very Dallas of us.

State Fair parking attendants, Maurice Smith (left) and Craig Berry, direct traffic into the valet lot in 2000, the first year for valet parking at the fair.
FAIR PARK Corny dogs slathered in mustard, tourists in their sneakers, children screaming on rides and … valet parking? The State Fair of Texas offers valet parking every day for $30.
“It does booming business,” said Sue Gooding, spokesperson for the State Fair of Texas.
Valet parking was first offered at the fair in 2000 for $20, back when the DART train did not yet connect to Fair Park. Today, patrons who don’t want to pay $15 to self-park in the lots – which is a considerable walk to the center of the fair – can valet at Gate 5 every day and at Gate 2 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Gooding said Music Hall at Fair Park's patrons often use the valet if they’re wearing heels. It also is popular for people who want to grab a corny dog at the fair and leave.
She couldn’t quote how much the fair has collected in its 13 years of valet parking but said there’s been a positive response.
Is this normal? Representatives from the Minnesota State Fair, the New York State Fair, and the California State Fair -- three of the country's largest fairs next to the State Fair of Texas -- confirmed they do not have valet parking.
We asked our Facebook fans what they thought, and a majority said no to valet parking at the fair. Weigh in below.
