Sometime/not really former Dallasite Khloé Kardashian to host X Factor with Mario Lopez

Khloé's stay in Dallas felt longer than her sister's marriage, so she counts as "ours," right?

Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez have been named hosts of the second season of The X Factor.

— And this is how nightmares come true. Not really. I wasn’t super excited when TMZ reported for the one millionth time that Khloé Kardashian Odom was on the shortlist to host The X Factor, but I realize things could be worse.

Simon Cowell said that, if it weren't for him, the hosts for the show would have no experience hosting a show of this kind. Well, that apparently didn’t work since Mario Lopez will be co-hosting The X Factor with whom I consider the most likable Kardashian, Khloé. And I’m not just saying that because she lived in Dallas for what felt longer than her sister’s marriage. She really seems like the most fun one to be around from the whole Klan.

Lopez has hosted Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew for a while, so he will bring a solid reality TV hosting experience. Khloé? Well she’s been on TV a lot, and while in Dallas she hosted “The Mix Up with Khloé Kardashian Odom,” a daily radio show on Dallas’s MIX 102.9. Lopez could be great for the show; he’s charismatic, handsome, and has that whole AC Slater from Saved by The Bell back story that still makes many in my generation swoon. Me? Not so much. I was more of a Zack Morris fan.

Here’s what the involved parties had to say about the announcement:

“The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out,” said Cowell. “Mario and Khloé are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn’t be happier.”

“I’m so thrilled to become a part of The X Factor family,” said Odom. “I’ve been a big fan of the show and look forward to working with Simon and all of the judges. It’s going to be so much fun!”

“I’m very excited to be joining The X Factor team,” said Lopez. “I love the show, and I’ve been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloé and I have been friends for years and I know we’ll be a great team and have a blast.”

I am loving this new season of The X Factor and to be honest, after Steve Jones’ hosting duties last year, it shouldn’t have been too hard to find a viable upgrade.

Will Khloe and Mario be awesome or will they fail? What do you think?
