DENTON On Monday, burger joint Love Shack in Denton closed. Best known for its "Dirty Love Burger" -- a burger with a fried quail egg -- Love Shack also has a location in the Fort Worth Stockyards. A third location existed in Fort Worth's trendy So7 neighborhood, but it's since closed and will again open "shortly" on Bluebonnet Circle in Fort Worth, according to a post by Love Shack on Facebook.
With the closure of the Denton Love Shack, Chef Tim Love tells Facebook fans that he'll open a new concept in its place. [UPDATE: Love tells dfw.com it will be a high-end steakhouse.]
The Love Shack restaurants are run by a very busy Love. He also owns Fort Worth spots Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, White Elephant Saloon, and Woodshed Smokehouse, plus a food truck that serves the TCU area called the Big Purple Truck. He's been on Top Chef Masters and he will be on The Next Iron Chef on Sunday, November 4. Oh yes, and he's setting sail with Dallas chefs Tiffany Derry and Casey Thompson for Top Chef: The Cruise in April 2013. What doesn't Love do?
A letter was posted to Facebook announcing the closure:
As of today, October 29th 2012, the Love Shack Denton location is permanently closed. After 18 months of business, Chef Tim Love has decided to redesign and renovate the space which will open as a brand new concept in early 2013.
