The Marcus and Argyle High School marching bands will defend their titles at the UIL State Marching Band Contest Nov. 5 and 6 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Both squads took top honors in their respective 5A and 3A divisions in 2010, the last time the competition for those classifications was held.

Marcus will compete against 38 bands in the 5A category, including L.D. Bell from Hurst, TX, which placed second in 2010.

The Argyle Eagles will go up against 20 other bands for the 3A title.
