North Texan Demi Lovato gabs to Kelly Ripa about new X Factor job and being bipolar

Dallas’ own Demi Lovato has been doing the TV rounds in preparation for her debut as a judge on The X Factor. This morning, she stopped by Live with Kelly and Michael. Yes, Kelly Ripa officially has a co-shost in Michael Strahan, who served several times as a guest host. Here are some excerpts from the show.

On her ever-changing hair color:

Lovato tells hosts Kelly and Michael that so far this year she has changed her hair color six times. She adds “I’m just happy I still have my hair.”

On her Cowboys connection:

Lovato, a Dallas Cowboys fan, talks about her mom being a Cowboys cheerleader. Kelly then goes on to say that ever since the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders were on the Loveboat, being a Cowboys cheerleader is "the greatest job ever."

On her fun 20th birthday:

What does a normal 20 year do on her birthday? Go to a trampoline place with all your grown-up friends and have some pure,innocent fun with your friends. That’s what Lovato did for hers.

On her latest hit:

Her song "Give Your Heart a Break" just reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 40 list.

On her many tattoos:

The singer currently has about 12 tattoos, including: "Rock and roll" on her middle finger; "Peace" on another finger; her friend’s lips on her arm; and a cross, among others. Will she ever get rid of any? Maybe, she will worry about it when she’s older since she still likes them.

On her relief with being diagnosed as bipolar:

When she was finally diagnosed as bi-polar, Lovato was relieved, because she felt there was a reason for what she was going through, she wasn’t just crazy. She says: “It was awesome to pinpoint a diagnosis for the reason why I was extremely happy at a moment and then all of a sudden in a deep depression.”

On her new job as a judge on The X Factor:

Lovato says working with Britney Spears and L.A. Reid is amazing. She goes on to say Simon is fun to work with but she doesn’t put up with Cowell’s ways. Where does her bravery come from? She’s a southern girl who speaks her mind.
