Step right up: Free worms and jellyfish from Nammi food truck

Yummy?

— Marinated jellyfish. Would it be better if we said it's free?

Dallas' Nammi food truck is partnering with Dos Equis September 12-22 to serve a special menu. It's all an effort to highlight food trucks and new cuisine in seven cities. (The branding from Dos Equis doesn't hurt, either.)

The Nammi menu was created by Teena Nguyen and features some surprising delicacies in Dallas:

  • Jellyfish marinated with satay chili oil topped with tangy cucumber salad
  • Crispy spiced quail served with a black bean sauce
  • Soy silkworm seared with green tea sesame sauce

The lunch really is free ("no strings attached!!" says a press release). While food is being served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can watch Vietnamese ritual performances next to the truck in an effort to provide background information on the culture and cuisine.

Find the truck on Twitter or Facebook for your free worms.

The cuisine is just as unique in other cities. In Chicago, Duck N Roll Truck is serving miso braised beef tongue with jellyfish salad. Houston has grilled kangaroo. And Miami has alligator tail empanadas.
