5 best Pride Week events in Dallas

It's going to be a busy weekend.

— With Pride Weekend rapidly approaching, we thought we’d share at least five things we’ll be doing to show everyone in Dallas that we’re here, we’re queer, and we’re ready for fun!

Miss Coco Peru Is Present (Thursday, Friday)

One of our favorite performers is back in Dallas! Even though there are only a few seats left, we’ve still got the inside track on general admission tickets discounted up to 40%. Use code GAYLIST at checkout, but hurry!

Wigging Out Gay Bingo (Saturday)

The higher the hair, the closer to God. And closer to taking home a huge jackpot at this month’s Gay Bingo, which promises to bring out the craziest wigs this side of William Shatner.

  • $26.50 (Add $15 for VIP). Purchase tickets online in advance. Saturday, 8:30 p.m. Rose Room at S4, 3911 Cedar Springs Road.

Pride Run 5K (Sunday)

What better way to justify an afternoon of eating, drinking, and parade watching than by burning a few calories in the early hours of Pride Sunday. Make sure to stretch your legs. If you’re going to pull a muscle today, we can think of far more entertaining ways.

  • $25. Register online or day of race. Sunday, 8:30 a.m. Reverchon Park and the Katy Trail (Maple Avenue).

The Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade (Sunday)

The centerpiece of pride festivities is now in its 29th year. Filled with floats, music and many of our city’s greatest leaders and organizations, there’s nothing quite like attending the big parade and showing your pride.

Pride Festival (Sunday)

Head over after the parade, or hang out all day if you prefer a little splendor in the grass. Food and beverages will all be available for purchase, as well as live music and plenty of VIP guests to rally the crowd around a common cause.

Important note about this year’s Pride Festival: No coolers, glass containers, or cooking apparatus of any kind in the park. There will be prepared food and beverages available for purchase with proceeds going to local charities.
