Fort Worth country heartthrob Casey James returns to American Idol
He'll perform his hit single "The Good Life" on April 4.
FORT WORTH Casey James was the third-place finalist on the ninth season of American Idol. Remember who won that season? We won’t judge you if you don’t. Simon Cowell’s last season as a judge was one of the most lackluster seasons of the show with many of the contestants, including winner Lee Dewyze, not making it very far after the show ended. It also had Ellen Degeneres and Kara Dioguardi as judges, which now seems like an April Fool’s joke gone terribly wrong.
Things worked differently for Casey James, who was signed to Sony Music Nashville and released his album Casey James last year. The album has hailed two singles, with a third one being released this month. That single “The Good Life” is the one that James will be performing Thursday when he returns to American Idol for this week’s results show. Also performing this week is season four winner Carrie Underwood.
One would think that it’s country week on American Idol, but no, this week the theme is classic rock with a twist. Contestants are not allowed to sing ballads.
