PHOTOS: Dallas’ pups go on parade at the annual Dog Bowl
Many bellies were rubbed that day, my friends.
FAIR PARK The Cotton Bowl may be used to host the Red River Rivalry game, but once a year the famed football field becomes a 100-yard-long dog park where Dallas’ pups go on parade. On Sunday the seventh annual Dog Bowl brought multitudes of proud puppy parents who happily let their dogs loose to play, sniff, and run to their hearts content.
Tails were wagging, bellies were rubbed, and plenty of exclamations of “Aw, how cute!” could be heard throughout the stadium. Dog lovers competed in the in the pet/owner look-alike contest, checked out exhibits, and posed for photos that were featured on the big screen high up in the stadium. Girl Scouts were also on hand to keep pooches hydrated with kiddie pools full of water. Vets, trainers, and vendors gave helpful tips and sold their dog-oriented wares; the most popular tents being the ones that gave away free treats. Music provided by jazz bassist Barri Pearson and his band served as the perfect background music to romp to on such a wonderfully cloudy day.
Did you make your way to the Dog Bowl with your pooch? Send us some photos and we will add them to our growing gallery!
