Bachelor Sean Lowe fakes love interest, succeeds on Dancing With the Stars
It shouldn't have been that hard.
For the Latin-themed night on Dancing With the Stars, Bachelor Sean Lowe and partner Peta Murgatroyd were faced with the challenge of doing the rumba. Also known as “the dance of love,” or something along those lines.
During rehearsals, Lowe acknowledged how difficult this was going to be: “I have to pretend I’m in love and that’s a struggle, because I don’t have romantic feelings for Peta,” he said.
Oh, yes. She’s such a troll. Mimicking an attraction toward this gorgeous woman is darned near impossible, right? No. It is not impossible. The phrase “protests too much” likely applies here.
To make matters even more awkward, the pair enlisted the help of fiance Catherine Giudici, who practiced a few moves with Lowe so that he could “channel that” with his dance partner. You know, the alleged Shrek-like one that he could never be attracted to. (Insert eye roll here.)
But somehow, this ridiculous plan worked. Lowe felt the music, he did a fine job, and earned a respectable 24 out of 30 points from the judges. (The duo later lost a dance-off to Ingo Radamacher and Kym Johnson, but our Bachelor definitely redeemed himself from last week’s mess-up.)
In her critique, Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out that not only did he feel the music this time around, “the chemistry between you two was passionate.” So kudos for them pulling that off, despite not one tiny bit of romantic feelings.
