Hilton Anatole hosts QuakeCon 2013 through August 3
It's here and free, but if you can't make it, there's tons to stream online.
DALLAS QuakeCon is coming to the Hilton Anatole. I’m excited. You’re excited. Hardcore fans are already there getting their computers ready. Everything seems primed for this to be a fun weekend.
If you can’t make it to the event in person (come on, guys. It’s here in Dallas and it’s free. What’s your excuse?), this year Bethesda is teaming up with Twitch.tv to stream the presentations and tournaments. Because I love you, we’re going to be hosting those streams here.
(Why should you go? I wrote up a list of reasons last year, and they still apply.)
First off, do you like watching competitive gaming? It can be pretty awesome. QuakeCon 2013′s tournaments will be streamed live (that link will go live when QuakeCon begins), and include a Doom 20th Anniversary Challenge in addition to the standard Quake Live tournaments. Those will be streamed August 1 through August 3. If you’re new to the idea of watching other people play games for money and glory, you might at least tune in for the finals on Saturday night. They can get intense.
Below you’ll find the full streaming schedule for the presentations, courtesy of Bethesda. Keep checking dallasnews.com/videogames for a video of each live stream as it happens, as well as gameplay impressions, interviews, and more. (Note if you’re here from Google: All times are Central time.)
