Selena Gomez knocks Jay Z out for No. 1 on the Billboard 200
Gomez is the youngest solo female artist to hit No. 1 since Taylor Swift back in 2010.
It looks like Jay Z (without the hyphen) finally has a little competition.
Grand Prairie native Selena Gomez has earned a spot as the No. 1 title on the Billboard 200 with her highly anticipated album Stars Dance, which sold more than 97,000 copies in its first week alone.
Selena took to Twitter to express just how excited she was.

This obviously means Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail has fallen to the No. 2 spot after being No. 1 for nearly two weeks. (It’s okay to share the throne, Jay Z).
Being that this is the "Come & Get It," star’s first album to top the charts, according to Billboard, Gomez is the youngest solo female artist to hit No. 1 since Taylor Swift back in 2010.
Each of Selena’s four albums (Stars Dance, A Year Without Rain, Kiss and Tell, and When The Sun Goes Down) has increasingly become better, which in result has placed her higher and higher on the charts.
With her 2009 debut Kiss and Tell opening at No. 9 in 2009 and A Year Without Rain ranking No. 4 in 2010, the Send it On star has definitely earned her spot as No. 1.
Gomez recently celebrated her 21st birthday last Monday.
