The burrito chain is giving away $10 tokens, redeemable August 10 and 11.
DALLAS Chipotle is spicing up the end of National Farmers’ Market Week (August 4-10) by giving away $10 tokens, redeemable for produce, at the Dallas Farmers Market this weekend. Farmers can then redeem the tokens for cash.
Get there early (the market opens at 8 a.m.) on Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11 for a chance to get $10. The tokens only last for the first 250 market-goers who stop by the Chipotle tent each day.
Until noon, Chipotle is also handing out “Grow Your Own” cilantro seed packets, recipe cards for its classic menu items like its guacamole and salsa, and buy-one, get-one cards, good for a free entrée with the purchase of any burrito, burrito bowl, salad, or tacos at any area Chipotle location.
Farmers’ markets nationwide have increased by more than 10 percent since 2011, according to the USDA. There are now more than 8,144 registered farmers’ markets in the U.S. The Dallas Farmers Market has been around since 1941.
Chipotle prides itself for supporting local and family-owned farms. According to the restaurant chain, they source their produce from farms less than 350 miles from their store locations and are giving local farmers more than $110,000 this week.
