New wine and tapas bar called Sera will open in Fort Worth
It takes the place of Sapristi, and is helmed by some of the same staff.
FORT WORTH Those saddened by Sapristi's abrupt shuttering in May may be interested to learn that General Manager John Marsh has reunited with the space. And it feels so good: The new restaurant, Sera, goes into the defunct wine bar at 2418 Forest Park Boulevard in Fort Worth and will offer a "neighborhood tapas and wine concept" with coastal French-Spanish cuisine.
Sera -- as in "Que Será, Será" -- will feature a seasonal menu of small, medium, and large plates by Brandon Hudson, executive chef. Most recently, Hudson was sous chef at SMOKE in Oak Cliff, and he studied under Michelin rated chefs in Spain, according to a press release. Expect menu items like crispy whole sardines with meyer lemon aioli and slow-cooked suckling pig with herbed quinoa. The wine list will focus on French and Spanish wines, with specific emphasis on pairings.
"There really are not any places similar to Sera in this area," said public relations representative Heather Hughston of Hutson Creative. "It will bring a more worldly presence and a new culinary experience to the neighborhood."
In addition to the new cuisine, Marsh is revamping the space, changing the color scheme, and opening it up to add a lighter, spacious, Mediterranean feel. The finished project will seat 130 with emphasis on bar service as well as outdoor seating.
Sera will open at a TBA date in "early fall" and "about a month," according to its Facebook page on August 14. It will be open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and will open for monthly Sunday suppers.
