See Anderson Cooper speak at UTA for free this fall
He's one of five in a media-heavy lineup.
ARLINGTON The University of Texas at Arlington has announced the lineup for the 2013-14 season of its Maverick Speakers Series, and it’s got some media heavy hitters.
Among the speakers, according to a press release that went out today: CNN’s star anchor Anderson Cooper and chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, NPR’s Nina Totenberg, and ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen.
The season kicks off on Sept. 24 with immigration rights activist Jose Vargas at Texas Hall. Anderson Cooper speaks Nov. 11 at College Park Center. The lectures are free, but you do need to register for a free ticket here. You can purchase “preferred” tickets, which get you seating in the first few rows.

Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013: Jose Vargas, “Define American: My Life as an Undocumented Immigrant”; 7:30 p.m., Texas Hall. Tickets available Aug. 26.
Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013: Bill Rasmussen, “Share the Dream: The ESPN Story”; 7:30 p.m., Texas Hall. Tickets available Sept. 19.
Monday, Nov. 11, 2013: “An Evening With Anderson Cooper“; 7:30 p.m., College Park Center. Tickets available Oct. 3.
Tuesday, March 18, 2014: Sanjay Gupta, “Medicine & Media”; 7:30 p.m., College Park Center. Tickets available Feb. 13, 2014.
Tuesday, April 8, 2014: Nina Totenberg, “The Supreme Court and its Impact on You”; 7:30 p.m., Texas Hall. Tickets available March 6, 2014.
