Texas A&M to play LSU on Thanksgiving in 2014
Lone gone are the days of the A&M/UT rivalry on Thanksgiving.
Texas A&M fans have a new rival on Thanksgiving Day in LSU.
The conference released its full 2014 league schedule on Wednesday, which includes eight games for all 14 teams. The schedule uses a 6-1-1 format that includes six games against all division opponents, one permanent non-divisional opponent and one rotating non-divisional opponent.
A&M opens at South Carolina, its fixed SEC East opponent, on Aug. 28, 2014 for the SEC Network. The Aggies also play the Missouri Tigers from the East.
As for the new Thanksgiving Day opponent, Texas A&M and LSU have a history. LSU leads A&M 28-20-3.
The SEC’s leadership is reviewing the scheduling process and changes could be made by 2016.
The SEC Network is scheduled to debut on August 21, 2014 and will have one week on air to prepare for the South Carolina-Texas A&M showdown.
The league’s championship game will be played at the Georgia Dome for the 23rd consecutive year on December 6, 2014.

- Sept. 27: vs. Arkansas (Arlington)
- Oct. 4: at Mississippi State
- Oct. 11: vs. Ole Miss
- Oct. 18: at Alabama
- Nov. 8: at Auburn
- Nov. 15: vs. Missouri
- Nov. 27: vs. LSU
