Winner of Big Brother Hayden Moss to compete on Survivor
He's joined by girlfriend and reality TV contestant Kat Edorsson.
The upcoming season of Survivor tests family ties in a series themed "Blood vs Water," where loved ones compete with and against each other in the Philippines. Who said kin has to be kind?
The list of 20 "castaways" includes Hayden Moss from Springtown, Texas, a small town about 30 miles northwest of Fort Worth. You may recognize the 26-year-old as the winner of Big Brother Season 12 in 2010, which won him $500,000. Moss's companion is girlfriend and returning castaway Kat Edorsson, 23, who competed on Survivor: One World in 2012.
The competitors on the 27th season of Survivor include married, engaged, and dating couples, as well as blood relatives.
Those eliminated from the show can potentially come back if they seek redemption. But, it'll be up to the person's partner to save the eliminated contestant -- which requires that they switch places -- "or leave them in exile to survive on their own," says a press release.
Moss was almost a Survivor contestant in 2010, when he auditioned for the show but didn't make the final cut, he told Entertainment Weekly.
Will Moss and Edorsson be a power couple? Moss says in a CBS video below that Edorsson talks too much. But then Moss does some talking: "She's a weird girl, like, there's no doubt about it," Moss said. " ... It's part of why we have so much fun together."
Moss describes himself in a CBS bio as "athletic, popular and respectful."
The other 18 contestants are:
- Vytas Baskauskas and Aras Baskauskas, brothers
- Candice and John Cody, married
- Colton Cumbie and Caleb Bankston, engaged
- Gervase and Marissa Peterson, uncle and niece
- Laura Morett and Ciera Eastin, mother/daughter
- Monica and Brad Culpepper, married
- Rupert and Laura Boneham, married
- Tina Wesson and Katie Collins, mother/daughter
- Tyson Apostol and Rachel Foulger, dating
The 90-minute premiere airs September 18 on CBS. The "sole survivor" wins $1 million.
