The Sing-Off premiered Monday with one Dallas a cappella group
They grooved in "Tell Me Something Good."
Last year, reality singing competition The Sing-Off was not renewed for another season. Earlier this year, we got great news that the show would come back for a fourth season. And Monday night, the show that exposed the world to Arlington’s a cappella superstars Pentatonix came back swinging.
Among the many talented groups competing for a Sony recording contract and a $100,000 cash prize we saw local group Ten. According to NBC’s website, most of the group members are friends who met in Dallas, but some didn’t even know each other and were brought together by group leader Chelsea. All of the group members have worked as background singers. On the first episode of the season, the group sang “Tell Me Something Good.” The lead singers were fantastic, with nice harmonies and a groove. Country singer Jewel, who serves as judge this season, thought “the harmonies sounded like a pipe organ.”

The group was also part of the opening number where all the groups performed a mashup of songs by Fun. Which of course sounded great a cappella. It was a very fun introduction to the show.

The Sing-Off returns on Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. on NBC.
