Survey: San Antonio is the most romantic city in the country?
Say what?
This grabbed my attention: survey results from online reservations provider OpenTable on the 25 most romantic cities in the United States. When it comes to romantic dining, Texas restaurants apparently really light a fire, as our fair state takes up four of the top 11 spots.
San Antonio and Austin lead the list at Nos. 1 and 2. Dallas was 11th — one spot past Houston, to my chagrin. (I don’t know why it bothers me when Houston is higher than us on any list. It just does. And I’m not alone.)
According to the news release, OpenTable arrived at its rankings using these variables: the percentage of restaurants rated “romantic” by OpenTable users, the percentage of tables for two, and the percentage of people who dined out for Valentine’s Day last year.
Here’s the full top 25 for your perusal. And while we’re on the subject, don’t forget to check out Leslie Brenner’s picks for 10 romantic Valentine’s Day restaurants in Dallas.
