Dallas bachelor Sean Lowe boots Tierra after another bout of tears
The moment audiences have been waiting for finally came on Monday night’s episode of The Bachelor, when Sean sent Queen B Tierra packing. His experiences this week determined which four families he would go meet.
Sean and the remaining six ladies headed to St. Croix for another series of lavish dates. This time, there were three individual dates and one group date, on which Sean was allowed to give out just one rose.
AshLee and Sean kicked off the trip with a fun-filled day perusing the ocean on a Catamaran and having epic make-out sessions on the beach. Sean probed his date for information about the drama in the house, specifically concerning Tierra. AshLee, now in an awkward position, honestly told him her opinion using phrases like “rude” and “difficult to get along with.”
At dinner, AshLee nervously admitted to Sean that she had gotten married when she was 17, which she felt might taint his image of her. By the look on his face, it was obvious he expected much worse and was relieved by the news. She admitted also that she loves him and sequentially screamed the first “I love you” of season 17.
Tierra received the second solo date of St. Croix and her first of the season. She and Sean walked the street of the town, buying jewelry and dancing in a parade they stumbled upon. But not without complaining to the camera about being hot and gross and thirsty, of course.
The date was going well until Sean asked Tierra about her issues in the house. She acted offended, but then wrapped up dinner on the beach with “I’m falling for you.” Two down, four to go.
Catherine, Desiree, and Lindsay were up next for their romantic group date. Sean surprised them at 5 a.m. by snapping Polaroids of the women without makeup. The bachelor said he was “pleasantly surprised” by their bedhead looks. They proceeded to the easternmost point of the United States to watch the sunrise over the ocean. From there they took a road trip to a sandy point on the west coast of St. Croix to watch the sunset.
Only one of the three was eligible for a rose during the date. And while both Desiree and Catherine opened up about their family issues — Desiree’s family means the world to her and Catherine’s father now lives in China after a suicide attempt — Sean handed the rose to Lindsay. Perhaps he was picturing her in that wedding dress from their first meeting.
Lesley went on the final solo date to do nothing in particular but explore the land and pick fruit. Sean expressed in his interview that he was undecided about Lesley and wanted to talk and have her open up. She told the cameras she loves him, but opted not to let him in on the secret during their date, which made for a lot of awkward silences.
Sean’s sister Shay made a guest appearance Monday night, helping her brother work through his girl problems. It was a sobering moment for the Dallas dreamboat.
“As your family, our biggest fear is that you’ll get hurt,” Shay said. The Lowes don’t want Sean to end up with “that one” girl who is ultimately a bad egg. If there’s a girl who’s not getting along with the other girls in the house, that’s a red flag, she said. Ahem.
Sean decided to introduce let his sister to Tierra, but when he arrived at the ladies’ house, the situation was disastrous. Tierra confronted AshLee about “throwing her under the bus,” and tensions spun out of control. Tierra babbled nonsense and began crying right as Sean entered the building. He gave her the boot quickly thereafter.
Hallelujah! We can finally stop talking about Tierra.
Unfortunately, Sean experienced a shift in attitude that affected more than just Tierra that evening. He canceled the cocktail party before the rose ceremony, as this “moment of clarity” assured him of whom he was sending home. It happened to be the lovely Lesley, to the surprise of many, including Catherine, who cried about it.
Next week Sean accompanies Desiree, Lindsay, AshLee, and Catherine to their homes in Los Angeles, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Houston, and Seattle, respectively. And from the looks of the preview, it’s bound to be intense. Sean meets the other men in his women’s lives — the fathers and brothers of his potential wives.
