Jane McGarry starts over at WFAA with second chances program
McGarry pleaded not guilty to a DWI charge in May.
DALLAS She was our reader’s choice winner for D-FW’s favorite news anchor, but Jane McGarry hasn’t been on TV since May 2012, after pleading not guilty to a DWI charge and leaving KXAS-TV (Channel 5). But she’s set to hit TV screens again on WFAA’s Good Morning Texas, where she will be presenting stories in a segment called “Starting Over with Jane McGarry,” airing over a 5-week period beginning on Thursday, January 24.
“I am excited to be working with the talented team at Good Morning Texas on this project,” McGarry said in a press release. “I hope the information will be helpful to the loyal viewers of North Texas, whom I have had the pleasure of knowing for more than two decades”
Her stories will cover local people “who have experienced significant changes in their lives, often due to unforeseen circumstances,” over a variety of topics.
