The Bachelor breaks world record for “Longest On-Screen Kiss”
And proves some people are better friends than lovers.
ABC
Lesley M. and Sean beat the Guinness World Record for "Longest On-Screen Kiss," formerly three minutes and 16 seconds.
The Bachelor Sean Lowe is one week closer to finding a bride-to-be, and the women are feeling the pressure. Audiences finally witnessed the first signs of Hollywood captivity wearing on the 16 remaining contestants as each took part in showcasing their little bit of crazy.
The dates, both solo and group, became increasingly intricate. Lesley M. (the secretly sexy political consultant) joined Sean on the first of two solo dates, where they attempted to break the Guinness Book of World Records for “Longest On-Screen Kiss.” The couple stood in front of cameras and a live crowd for 3 ½ awkward minutes before beating the record and basking in a shower of confetti.
Then they kissed to celebrate, and Lesley received a rose.
Twelve ladies accompanied Sean to the beach for some (shirtless) fun in the sun as well as a volleyball game that would advance only six to the evening date. Though it was fairly obvious which team would win — the red team had models Tierra and Kristy, and Daniella who admitted to being terrible at the sport — the game stayed dead even until match point. The blue team won, earning Lindsay, Desiree, Amanda, Kacie B., Robyn, and Jackie some one-on-one time.
Lindsay, a substitute teacher from Missouri, made Sean swoon during their alone time and received a rose. Series-veteran Kacie B. used her solo conversation to gossip about two of the other women, which turned out to be a big mistake. She was sent home prior to the rose ceremony because Sean believed, “we’re better as friends.”
Our Dallas hottie invited AshLee on the second private date of the episode; however, she was almost overshadowed by Tierra, who reportedly fell down the stairs and hit her head (though ABC did not air the fall). Tierra refused to be taken to the hospital by the medical crew, angering more than a few women with her “act.”
Sean took AshLee to Six Flags Magic Mountain where he asked her to share the date with two more girls. Briana and Emily were not contestants on The Bachelor, rather two best friends who love the show. They have various mitochondrial diseases and only got to know each other through a social networking website specific to their illnesses. This is the first time they ever met in person.
AshLee proved herself as kind, caring, and open by accepting these two young girls on the date. She also prompted the first real conversation of the entire series by divulging that she was adopted at age 6. AshLee’s heartwarming story made Sean cry and he immediately handed over a rose with a sincere hug.
Things headed downhill quickly at the cocktail party before the third rose ceremony, as women started desperately stealing Sean for a moment of conversation. The hopefuls turned on the offensive, swarming Sean like bees trying to pollinate the same flower. That damn rose.
In the end, Kristy the model and Taryn the health club manager were sent home. It’s never too early for tears in reality television.
