Sean Lowe of The Bachelor keeps drama queen Tierra in biggest twist of the season
Her act was good, damn good.
Season 17 of The Bachelor is becoming more intense with every episode, as many of the contestants seem deeply smitten by Dallasite Sean Lowe. Monday, the bachelor made several questionable decisions leading to some of the biggest twists this season.
Selma, the exotic real estate developer from San Diego, received the first individual date, during which Sean flew her in a private jet to the middle of Joshua Tree National Forest. Their date rock climbing in the desert was doomed to fail after Selma revealed that she hates hikes and heights. However, she gained the courage to scale a huge rock face, and the two watched the sunset over the horizon.
Later in the evening, Selma refused to kiss Sean because of her Muslim upbringing, stating that her mother “would lose it” if she got at all physical national television. Apparently, Sean is willing to wait because he handed her a rose. Let’s see how long that lasts.
Eight ladies traveled on a group date to a roller derby rink where they were supposed to knock each other out in the name of love. Frankly, it was a disaster. For one, Sean invited Sarah, the darling advertising agent with one arm. Viewers sympathized with Sarah as she crashed and burned with every couple steps, trying to emotionally overcome her obstacle. Sean lost a couple cool points for his insensitivity.
Everyone on the group date was invited to evening drinks after the competition was canceled. The quirky Amanda fell on her face and was sent to the hospital with the possibility of a broken jaw. She returned later that evening playing the sympathy card strong.
Tierra ended up stealing the spotlight of episode 4 when she had a meltdown at the group cocktail party. She was ticked off by Robyn, who allegedly ignored her during conversation, and went sent spiraling out of control in tears, threatening to walk off the set for good. Her act was good -- damn good. When Sean was able to talk her out of hysteria, he solidified her trust with a rose. The other women attested the bachelor was fooled by her fake attitude, but Tierra maintained they were just being catty.
Leslie H., the 29-year-old poker dealer, went on her first date of the season Monday. She and Sean lived out the scene from ‘80s classic Pretty Woman where Richard Gere takes Julia Roberts to Rodeo Drive and spoiled the crap out of her. Leslie walked to their dinner spot in a new emerald-colored dress, matching shoes and purse, diamond earrings (which she got to keep), and a 120-karat diamond necklace.
Unfortunately, forced romance couldn’t stir real feelings in Sean, and he sent Leslie home before the rose ceremony the following day. The guilt started to weigh on Sean, who said he was “having doubts.”
In the final party and rose ceremony, Tierra (rose in hand) managed to steal a personal conversation with Sean. Graphic Designer Catherine came from left field with a bat of her lashes and a smooch on the lips to earn her the first rose. Amanda’s spill cost her the chance at love and she left feeling rejected. She had no idea that was coming. Really.
Stay tuned as the The Bachelor airs twice next week on Monday, February 4 and Tuesday, February 5.
