UPDATED: Morrissey cancels Dallas show on February 18

Wherever you live, hang onto your tickets.

UPDATE: Morrissey canceled two more weeks of concerts, including the Dallas show on February 18 at Palladium Ballroom, due to treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus, according to Morrissey's official Facebook. The news comes after Morrissey canceled nine shows in January and February but was hopeful that he'd make it to Dallas for the February 18 show.

Original story: Take a sigh of relief, Morrissey fans in Dallas: The former Smiths frontman canceled nine shows due to a bleeding ulcer, but the Dallas show February 18 was not one of them. At least not yet.

Morrissey was hospitalized in Michigan for a bleeding ulcer but is "expected to make a full recovery," according to publicist Laura Papapietro. He canceled all his shows until February 9, when he will reportedly appear at Las Vegas' Cosmopolitan hotel. After that, he'll head to Phoenix on February 10; El Paso on February 12; Austin on February 13; Pharr, Texas on February 15; Beaumont on February 16; and Dallas on February 18. (Other dates occur after the Dallas show, of course. You can see them here.)

Patrons should hang onto their tickets wherever they live, and rescheduled dates will be announced soon, Papapietro confirmed via email.

His current tour is a continuation of last year’s canceled tour -- a little ironic, our friends at The Indie-Verse point out.

Morrissey last performed in Dallas in November 2011. During that visit, he famously got his hair cut in Fair Park, then took the cut hairs with him.

I love Morrissey. Bleeding ulcer seems strangely appropriate though.
