Sarah Jaffe to play three sold-out living room shows in North Texas
If you don't have tickets, you can hear the indie diva's voice in a new short film that precedes Monsters University, in theaters June 21.
When Sarah Jaffe announces a North Texas run of shows, the golden rule is to buy tickets early or be left in the cold. Next week, our local songstress returns to her roots with three intimate living room shows scheduled in Denton (June 27), Dallas (June 28), and Fort Worth (June 29).
True to the golden rule, if you don’t already have tickets, you’re S.O.L. All three dates are sold out, and we can’t event tell you where the concerts are. In a similar fashion to the international “secret” shows by Sofar Sounds, the living room performances are held at residents’ homes, the location of which are kept private to everyone except ticket holders.
The shows are worth noting, however, since they coincide with another major Jaffe accomplishment: Jaffe’s voice will be featured in a Pixar short film called The Blue Umbrella that precedes Monsters University in theaters. The movie opens Friday, June 21.
Jaffe was recently in Arlington for the Center Stage Music Festival. Hopefully you caught her then, as she has no further Texas dates planned for the summer.
