UPDATED: See the menu for PakPao Thai, opening June 21 in Design District
It's by the husband/wife duo behind Oak and Belly & Trumpet.
DESIGN DISTRICT The Design District just keeps getting better. We wrote about a Thai restaurant coming to the neighborhood a few months ago and are excited to announce that PakPao Thai Food will be opening at 1628 Oak Lawn on Friday, June 21.
If you’re familiar with Oak or Uptown’s Belly and Trumpet, you’re familiar with husband/wife duo Richard and Tiffanee Ellman. The pair’s restaurants have garnered accolades and positive press galore, so Dallas foodies have been anxiously awaiting the opening of their new venture into Thai cuisine.
PakPao will be located just behind Oak in the same building as the restaurant and its retail neighbor BoConcept.
The authentic Thai cuisine will be prepared by Chef Eddy T. and will incorporate flavors and styles from around the country.
If you’re familiar with the Ellman’s restaurants, you know no expense will be spared on décor, much of which, according to Richard, comes from Thailand itself.
Design District residents and frequenters, you now have yet another destination in which to enjoy delicious food and excellent cocktails.
UPDATE: Pakpao will open for dinner only, from 4-10 p.m. daily, for the first three weeks. After that, owners plan to open for lunch, according to a spokesperson.
