Rockwall Freedom Festival slated for June 30
The event will feature fireworks and music by 531st Air Force Band.
ROCKWALL The public is invited to attend Lakeshore Church’s free 11th annual Freedom Fest June 30, beginning at 6 p.m., featuring a patriotic concert by the 531st Air Force Band, a fireworks show and numerous activities for children and adults.
The Church is located at 5575 S. Hwy 205, three miles south of I-30.
According to Executive Pastor Bill Patterson, the Air Force Band –- officially known as the Air National Guard Band of the Gulf Coast –- has been named the “Official Band of Texas” by Gov. Rick Perry. It will present: “A Celebration of American Music,” at 8:15 p.m.
Festival activities include water rides, pony rides and a petting zoo for kids; plus an express trackless train; volleyball and basketball tournaments; zip lines and Euro Bungees for families.
Festival-style food and drinks will be available for purchase. No alcohol or smoking is allowed. Pets are also not allowed.
Over 100 door prizes will be given away.
Patterson said last year over 2,500 people attended the event. Plenty of parking is available at the Church.
