Rockwall PD identifies female inmate who allegedly hanged herself
Little else is known about her.
ROCKWALL The female jail inmate who died last week after apparently hanging herself in the Rockwall County Jail has been identified as 29-year-old Krymsun Yvonne O’Dell of Dallas.
According to an email from Jail Commander Captain Bob Guzik, she was found at approximately 11:16 a.m. February 27 “unresponsive in her cell due to an apparent suicide attempt by hanging utilizing an inmate telephone cord.”
Capt. Guzik explained that detention center medical staff immediately began CPR to revive her. Paramedics from Emergency Medical Services arrived about two minutes later and began life-saving procedures.
“She was transported to Lake Pointe Hospital in Rowlett at approximately 11:50 a.m. and pronounced deceased at approximately 12:05 p.m.,” the email read. “EMS transported her body to the Dallas County Coroner’s Office for autopsy and determination of death.”
“O’Dell had been arrested two days prior by the Dallas Police Department on an outstanding warrant from Rockwall County for the offense of engaging in organized criminal activity.”
“Dallas police transported O’Dell to Rockwall County Detention Center where she was booked in and evaluated by Detention Center and Medical Staff, revealing that she had pre-existing medical conditions. She was placed in a medical segregation cell for further evaluation and separation from the general population.”
The Rockwall News will attempt to contact her next-of-kin to learn more information about her.
