— The first 50 people in line at the new MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes this Saturday, March 9, will receive free burgers for a year, in the form of 12 free burger vouchers.

The new corporate-owned restaurant is located at 2825 Ridge Road in Rockwall and the restaurant opens at 11 a.m. The business just opened February 25, next door to Chick-Fil-A.

According to a news release from the Frisco-based company, MOOYAH is a fast-casual, “better burger” concept serving made-to-order burgers from fresh, American beef; hand-cut French fries made from high-quality Idaho potatoes; and handcrafted 100% ice cream shakes.

Founded in 2007, the Frisco-based company offers all-natural Jennie-O® turkey burgers, Morningstar veggie burgers, buns baked in house, several kinds of real cheese and toppings made from garden-fresh, name-brand ingredients. It offers online ordering and a cookout trailer for corporate, social, and fundraising events.

The restaurant chain earned a top restaurant award from DFW Child and a spot in the finals for the Dallas Morning News’s Burger Madness Best Burger competition.

The brand is currently in 10 states and nearly doubled the number of restaurants from 25 to 48 in 2012. In 2013, MOOYAH plans to continue expansion and grow internationally, to total nearly 80 restaurants.

MOOYAH ranked in the top 10 of FastCasual.com’s annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list for several years in a row, and BurgerBusiness included MOOYAH in its list of “11 Burger Chains to Watch in 2011.”

The company’s new President Bill Spae explained MOOYAH is designed with the family in mind.

“MOOYAH prides itself on being a family-friendly business, from the guests we serve to the franchisees who open restaurants with the goal of running them with family,” he said. “We designed the restaurant concept with family in mind so everyone would feel welcome and comfortable. With Rockwall, we’re opening a MOOYAH with our corporate family, and we’re looking forward to running it together as a team.”
