DFW storms the tee vee: Meet 9 local reality show contestants
Some you probably know, others you may have missed.
So far, 2013 is shaping up to be a big year for North Texans on reality TV. See who has made a splash.
First: Sean Lowe was the star of this season's The Bachelor on ABC.
After The Bachelor wrapped up, Sean Lowe joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars on ABC. You can watch each week at 7 p.m. Mondays and 8 p.m. Tuesdays.
Dallas native Amber Perley has emerged as a front-runner on the second season of NBC's Fashion Star, which airs at 7 p.m. Fridays.
Dallas' Cortez Shaw made it to the Top 20 on the 12th season of American Idol.
Alex Reid of Carrollton made it to the top six on NBC's The Biggest Loser before being eliminated.
John Tesar, owner of Dallas' Spoon Bar & Kitchen, competed on Top Chef: Seattle and was the 10th chef eliminated. Although he went out earlier than some expected, his always-frank remarks left an indelible impression.
Drag queen Alyssa Edwards of Mesquite is a contestant on season five of RuPaul's Drag Race, which airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on Logo.
Highland Park’s "Prime Time" Alex Stein returned to reality TV on the Food Network's Worst Cooks in America after a short stint last year on The Glass House. He was eliminated in the third episode.
Dallas designer James Martinez competed on the new season of Project Runway, which began on January 24 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime. Martinez was eliminated in the second week.
