Check out the 4th annual Dallas Vegan Bake Sale on May 4
It benefits Resource Center Dallas, a LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS service organization in North Texas.
DALLAS Get your stomachs ready for one of the tastiest treats of the year! This Saturday marks the 4th year of the Dallas Vegan Bake Sale, held in conjunction with the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale.
This year’s bake sale benefits Resource Center Dallas, the primary lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) and HIV/AIDS service organization in North Texas.
Jade Degrio, organizer-extraordinaire of the Dallas Vegan Bake Sale, had this to say:
The bake sale is about challenging people to try something new, whether it’s baking from a new recipe, or trying a vegan cupcake for the first time. Bringing people together for an afternoon to share sweets and recipes is at the heart of the event, but it also serves as a way to learn about or strengthen relationships with other causes. With national attention focused on the Human Rights Campaign and the fight for marriage equality, I wanted to use this event to highlight local efforts in the LGBTQ community in Dallas.
The sale is cash-only and items range in price from $2 for individual items to $5 and up for whole cakes/pies (suggested donation).
Also, check out these local groups coordinating Meetups for the event – meet new veg-friends and share some tasty food!
