Judges: Sean Lowe’s Dancing performance was “a little bit ugly”
That's the first time he's heard that.
Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd - Tango - Dancing with the Stars - Season 16 - Week 8
Let’s be honest: Sean Lowe’s chance of taking home the disco-ball trophy on Dancing With the Stars is as low as, say, a reality-TV romance actually working out.
But at least he’s not fooling himself; he and partner Peta Murgatroyd are simply trying to stay alive for another week. Or as Lowe put it tonight, “I don’t want to go anywhere. I want to last as long as I can.”
Sadly, the duo’s tango — set to a tongue-in-cheek “runaway groom” theme — fell pretty flat. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called him out on his inconsistencies, while Len Goodman called the display “a little bit ugly.”
And when your real-life fiance doesn’t even bother to give you a standing ovation afterward, it’s a bad sign. (But kudos to the polite fellow behind her, who quickly jumped to his feet.)
But they had another round to redeem themselves. For the “trio” number, Sean and Peta were teamed with ousted pro Sharna Burgess to perform a jazz routine. Sadly, it wasn’t any better than the first effort; they earned the same 21-point score again. Afterward, Lowe tried out a joke: “It’s so extremely difficult to do this. I don’t think people grasp how hard it really is — especially when you’re as Caucasian as I am.”
