Boy band Hanson created an original craft beer called — yes — Mmmhops
And the boys are touring through Dallas in September.
Big news in the world of ‘90s boy bands making millennial comebacks: The trio of Tulsa-born Hanson brothers is breaking into craft beer culture with an original brew called, wait for it … Mmmhops!
The beer's namesake song “MMMbop,” released in 1996 (that's almost 20 years ago), was recently featured in The Hangover III, and folks at the Rio de Janeiro movie premiere celebrated with the first taste of sonically-inspired suds, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. The beer is slated for release this fall in conjunction with a Hanson tour (uhh...) to promote a new album entitled Anthem (hmmm...). They’ll be rocking the stage at House of Blues in Dallas on September 16.
Until Mmmhops is available, those made giddy by the news can buy souvenir T-shirts and pint glasses. All proceeds from sales will go to the Red Cross to help with disaster relief efforts in Hanson’s home state. An F5 tornado ripped through Moore, practically leveling the town. (Here are more ways you can help.)
In case you forgot the tune, below is a video of the epic song that skyrocketed these young men to fame. We can’t wait for the day we’re singing “MMMbop” at karaoke night with a pint of Mmmhops in hand!
