Dallas arts community rallies in support of AIDS Monday night
Several local organizations are performing songs and dances at the Winspear Opera House today.
DALLAS Monday, the Dallas arts community is coming together for a one-night-only performance: A Gathering 2013. A cast of more than 175 performers aim to reflect on HIV/AIDS through dance, song and spoken word. All of the proceeds benefit four Dallas AIDS organizations: AIDS Arms, AIDS Interfaith Network, AIDS Services of Dallas and Resource Center Dallas.

“There are a lot of people involved, and we all do it for free. All the artists do their part for free and all the artists do it for free. It’s a really cool thing because we all know each other really well, but it’s the only time we get to work together. That’s the really fun part,” said choreographer Bruce Wood in an interview I did with him in August for my "30 LGBT Leaders for 30 Years of Dallas Pride" series.
