UPDATED: The Pixies are coming to South Side Ballroom with yet another new bassist
The second Kim has left the building.
DALLAS News of a Pixies tour this summer was certainly depressing — for those of us in Texas, anyway. The iconic alt-rockers announced 30 European shows with the anticipation of a North American tour leg. Less than a month later the news came, but only Los Angeles and New York were granted the honors.
Tickets go on sale Friday, October 11 at 10 a.m.
Dallas is the second-to-last stop on the recently-announced tour, which covers 33 additional American and Canadian cities.
Remaining Pixies Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and
Kim Shattuck -- founder Kim Deal left in May 2013 -- are touring in support of September’s release EP-1, the band’s first collection of new material in more than 20 years.
[UPDATE: The Pixies announced via newsletter December 9 that Paz Lenchantin (from A Perfect Circle) will act as touring bassist in 2014. Kim Shattuck, who replaced Kim Deal earlier this year, announced via Twitter she departed the band.]
The band’s single “Bagboy” is available to download for free on the Pixies website.
