From Cane Rosso and Hypnotic Donuts: a fried chicken biscuit with hot soppressata marmalade
EAST DALLAS Those East Dallas guys, they stick together. On Thursday, Cane Rosso and Zoli's NY Pizza owner Jay Jerrier hopped into the Hypnotic Donuts kitchen with owner James St. Peter and whipped up a new item available beginning on Halloween: The Honey Badger Chicken Biscuit, made with fried chicken, mozzarella, soppressata, habanero honey and hot soppressata marmalade.
Just look at that photo.
The biscuit and fried chicken are made at Hypnotic, and Jerrier will supply the other ingredients. It's named after an off-menu pizza at Cane Rosso called the Honey Badger, which is cooked with mozzarella and soppressata, then drizzled with house-made habanero honey.
"I'm still thinkin' about it," said Jerrier of the Honey Badger Chicken Biscuit. He and a small group ate up all the samples Thursday at Hypnotic. "The way the honey soaks into the chicken and into the biscuit, it's really good."
The price hasn't been set yet, but St. Peter said the biscuit will likely cost "7-8 bucks."
