Brunch review: HG Sply Co. on Lower Greenville couples great food with a rooftop patio
And mimosas with fresh-squeezed orange juice.
LOWER GREENVILLE We can’t get enough of HG Sply Co. And it has nothing to do with our caveman fetish.
Instead, we’re infatuated with their paleo-esque menu and all the delicious, simply prepared foods filling our plates with bold flavors. Now they’ve launched Sunday brunch and we can hardly contain our excitement.
Head upstairs to the rooftop deck where there’s plenty of seating, and if you’re lucky, a musician providing backup beats by which you can drink spicy Bloody Marys and mimosas made with fresh-squeezed orange juice.
Then settle in for a feast of eggy greatness from the limited-but-exceptional brunch choices. We suggest getting one entrée per person and throw them in the middle of the table. Because few things are more caveman-like than pawing at your boyfriend’s pork belly. (Euphemism optional.)
Our favorite selections include said pork belly, crisped up and served with fresh greens, marinated tomatoes, salsa verde and an over-easy egg, while the chilaquiles (above) fotally rock thanks to the rich, smoky tomatillo-habañero sauce.
Meanwhile, the steak and eggs with sweet potato hash are protein-packed and enough to tide you over long into the evening.
It’s a brunch worth celebrating, so get it onto your schedule for this weekend now.
Can we get a yabba-dabba-do?
