Police investigate Springtown beating as possible hate crime
Springtown is northwest of Fort Worth.
Aaron Keahey, 24, is still recovering after a brutal assault weeks ago. Keahey says he met up with Brice Johnson, 18, after connecting with him on the phone app MeetMe.
Keahey went over to Johnson’s house and left with broken bones, nerve damage and broken teeth.
He told WFAA, who broke the story, that he went to Johnson’s home because he was given the impression that he was gay or bisexual.
“He started getting all frustrated and talking all angrily,” Keahey told WFAA reporter Steve Stoler. “I don’t remember anything after that.”
Johnson reportedly made the 911 call, claiming he found Keahey in the trunk of a car.
Johnson is now under arrest, facing a charge of aggravated assault, causing serious bodily injury.
