Polyphonic Spree to do Rocky Horror for Dallas crowd
It's just a jump to the left.
DALLAS Since Halloween of last year the Polyphonic Spree’s been doing the occasional Rocky Horror Picture Show run-though, beginning in London as headliners of the HMV Forum. Following that they whipped out “The Time Warp,” “”Dammit, Janet!,” that “”Sweet Transvestite” and other 40-year-old singalongs at the Isle Of Wight, Splendour in the Grass and Bonnaroo, for starters. But so far, nothing in their hometown.
That changes November 2: The band just announced that it’ll headline the 1st Annual Halloween Hootenanny at the Lakewood Theater a couple of days after, ya know, Halloween. But that’s fair enough: The Spree will return to the Lakewood on December 21 for its Holiday Extravaganza. Fair to say Tim DeLaughter’s fragile army has become the historic venue’s house band.

And there’s this bonus, per the release: “Hang out after with the Spree for the midnight movie screening of the complete film.” Shades of the old Highland Park Village days.
