DFW singer Demi Lovato to tour through North Texas in 2014
The pop princess plays February 17, 2014. Call it a Valentine's Day treat?
Pop singer Demi Lovato announced Sunday on Facebook that she'll take her music on the road with the Neon Lights Tour. Beginning February 9, 2014 in Vancouver, the tour stops in Grand Prairie at Verizon Theatre on February 17.
Lovato will rock tunes from her fourth album Demi, promoting the new single "Neon Lights." Billboard gave the album a 79 out of 100 rating, saying that "Neon Lights" is a "misguided dance stunt" but that the rest of the album largely shows her vocal skills.
Lovato found success with the single "Heart Attack," which has nearly 130 million views on Vevo and more than 126 million views on YouTube. Much of Lovato's magic lies in her struggles: She's openly discussed dealing with eating disorders, and said she was suicidal at age 7. She made Maxim's Hot 100 list and in September 2013 scored a book deal "inspired by her tweets."
Tickets to Lovato's concerts are available during a presale at 10 a.m. October 2 for Citi cardmembers. General tickets go on sale October 5 at livenation.com. Tickets range from $39.50 to $65.
Opening acts at the Grand Prairie show include two girl groups formed on The X Factor: Fifth Harmony and Little Mix.
