Beck, Bastille and Avett Brothers top Edgefest 2014 concert lineup
Tickets go on sale on Valentine's Day.
It's the 24th year for Edgefest, and music lineups in years past have included Bush, The Black Keys, Weezer, Limp Bizkit, Korn, The Toadies and many more.
Tickets go on sale at 4 p.m. Valentine's Day.
The bands announced for Edgefest so far are:
- The Avett Brothers
- Cage The Elephant
- New Politics
- The Neighbourhood
- MS MR
- J. Roddy Walston & The Business
- Bear Hands
While The Edge's choices for musical festivals like this one and its winter component, How The Edge Stole Christmas, have never faltered in caliber, they could be questioned in relevancy. This time, however, the radio station seems hipper including bands like CHVRCHES, The Neighbourhood and MS MR, which continually dominate indie airwaves on Sirus XM radio. (Perhaps The Edge recently renewed its subscription.)
Beck's spot as headliner is especially surprising since he tours so infrequently these days, sticking mostly to festivals like Coachella, where he'll be this coming spring. Beck's new album Morning Phase is slated for release on February 25, and we're guessing that many local music lovers will attend Edgefest singularly for his performance.
