Cheap Trick, Kool and the Gang and Joan Jett to headline Wildflower fest in Richardson
Seems the annual festival has moved away from nostalgic and more toward awesome.
RICHARDSON In years past, Richardson's Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival has been that suburban North Texas festival with the "nostalgic" lineup. Though the fest was established more than 20 years ago, its musical calendar -- with performances by musicians like Spin Doctors, Uncle Kracker and Whitesnake -- hadn't really struck a chord.
Until Monday morning's lineup announcement, that is.
Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival enlisted '70s and '80s greats like Cheap Trick, Kool and The Gang, and Joan Jett to headline the 22nd-annual soiree, which takes place May 16-18 at Galatyn Park in Richardson. Other big names include country singer Jack Ingram and blues maven Marcia Ball. (See full lineup below.)
Tickets for Wildflower! go on sale April 14 via the festival's website and local Tom Thumb grocery stores. (Note: The one in Highland Park Village is closing.) A three-day pass costs $30 and single-day tickets will be for sale at the gates for $20. Kiddos ages 5-12 gain admission for $3 and those under 4 are admitted for free.
