And the best barbecue in DFW is …
Hutchins BBQ, according to your votes.
We asked, and you answered, loudly. We sought to find out our readers' favorite barbecue joint in all of greater Dallas-Fort Worth. We started with a list of more than two dozen local favorites, and after four rounds of voting and more than 62,000 ballots cast, the winner is ... Hutchins BBQ.
Hutchins beat out Hard Eight BBQ in our hard-fought final round, 52.3 percent to 47.7 percent.
Congratulations to Hutchins BBQ, and thanks to everyone who voted. Congratulations are also due for Twitter user Steven Hunt, who won our bonus contest and gets to join our friends in the Texas BBQ Posse for a meal at Hutchins. (We'll be in touch, Steve.)
Now, let's all go out and eat some brisket!

We've come up with a list of 26 local favorites, but we need you to vote.
Voting for the first round will end Thursday, January 16 at 11:59 a.m. After that, the top eight restaurants will continue into bracket-style voting duels to determine an overall winner. Good luck to the candidates!
The candidates: Check out juicy pictures of the candidates above.
How it works: After the first round of voting, the top eight barbecue locations make the Elite Eight. Then those eight square off in NCAA Tournament bracket-style voting duels to determine the readers' choice for D-FW's favorite barbecue.
Vote!: Vote for your favorites in the poll below. You are allowed to vote once per day in each poll.
Bonus contest! Eat with the Texas BBQ Posse: One lucky voter (and one guest) will get to join our friends in the Texas BBQ Posse for a meal at the winning barbecue joint after the poll is over. Want to enter? Here's what you have to do: Tweet this link (http://d-news.co/sqzV0) with the hashtag #texasbbqposse and we will pick a winner at random after it's all over.
