Disney movies turned into plays, tamales, and New Moon anticipation head up this week's events.

Even though the slate of events is a little sparser than usual, there are still a few fun things worth getting out of the house for.

Only a little over a week to go until Halloween, so there are plenty of spooky events going on.

How cute is that?

They learned how to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and then dance while singing it. We can't even do that.

Kids of all ages performed a musical based on a speech made by sixth grader Dalton Sherman. "Do you believe in me? Do you?"

This week, you can see butterflies in Southlake and Dallas, disaster fun in Mesquite, and schools rocking out at the House of Blues.

The musical will play from Friday, September 25 through Sunday, October 11.

Art, a Market Street festival, and guitar-playing kids are all on tap this week.

Season tickets are now on sale to the general public.

On tap this week is kid yoga in Dallas, abnormal fairy tale characters in Flower Mound, a peachy festival in Weatherford, and animal petting in Allen.

The storyline features songs like “The Sour Kangaroo,” “Oh the Thinks You Can Think,” and “Horton Hears a Who.”

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will be performed Friday through Sunday, June 19-21 and 26-28, 2009.

This week's kids and family events are your typical mix of things that will take you all around the North Texas area.

The musical theatre company will present Godspell June 26-28 followed by District 11 - Believe in Me! July 30-August 2.

Barr was principal oboe of the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra for twenty years and performed with the Boston Symphony as acting associate principal oboe.

Children's shows are meant to entertain, educate and/or to inspire. The talent was there to do all three, unfortunately the material fell short of accomplishing it.
