Both L.G. Pinkston High School and George W. Truett Elementary School are competing.

Students can choose to attend classes at high schools that focus not only on academics but also on preparing for a career.

L.G. Pinkston High School's programs are just one of several positive things happening in West Dallas.

Bryan Adams, W.H. Adamson, David W. Carter, L.G. Pinkston, H. Grady Spruce and W.W. Samuell high schools are first in line to undergo the initiative in August 2008.

DISD officials call them "programs and activities"; we call them fiestas.
