Scott Doyle, says:
Jason Howeth, a junior who represents the College of Music, said he voted against the proposal because of opposition from parents who threatened to remove their children from the school and alumni who said they would withdraw their financial support."
Already selling out! I'm sure Jason has a very promising political career if he keeps this up.

This is sad. kind of reminds me of what i've read / heard of the civil rights movement.

Subtext:
Jason is at this very moment questioning his own sexuality and would be overwhelmed with the additional choice of prom dates should this proposal pass.
Seriously dude...You represent the College of Music and you cave to mom and dad? You should be removed from your post immediately.

I think the better gauge of his future failings in politics is the fact that he said to himself:
"Dude, there won't be any money if we piss them off."
A true politician would spend the money four or five times and then blame middle-aged bald guys.
Pavel Lishin, says:
parents who threatened to remove their children from the school
That's the way to do it, kids! Cave to mom and dad!
I guess if they're footing the bill, there's nothing you can do. 'cept get a job, apply for scholarships, move out of a house populated by homophobes, etc.
