I agree with you completely. They look like they were made by a dog who ate several different acrylic tubes of paint.

Yeah, I remarked to my wife the other day when we saw one that they looked like the cover art of a bad country music album.

Yeah - there is a reason the Mona Lisa wasn't the result of a committee vote.

What's wrong with he Space Shuttle/Cowboy design? It hasn't been given a full chance. But I sort of agree with Scott on the solid color option. In a times of economic uncertainty, simplicity often cuts costs. My personal favorite, to this day, is the old black font on a white plate with TEXAS on top. Nothing says 'frontier state' like a generic, utilitarian plate on an old pickup or Cadillac.

Christin, the cowboy/shuttle is being phased out for this:

I'd take black lettering on white above that any day. Particularly can't stand the duck-shaped cloud.

See that red, there? That represents the blood shed by Jesus Christ for our sins.
The duck-cloud represents a duck.

The ducks that we Texans go out to the country to shoot. Poor ducks.

I think that the ducks will have to wait until October. It's dove season until then. :-D

I actually saw one of the new plates on a car last night. Texas wasted no time at distribution.
