Rename Central Expressway to Cesar Chavez Street?
John Meyer says:
That's what three Hispanic Dallas City Council members are now proposing -- but they're talking only about the part of Central that's a surface street through downtown.

Give it a rest already!!! It will never happen. Start naming streets after Hispanics who have actually contributed something to this city or even this state. Hell, I'd rather name a street 'Antonio López de Santa Anna' than 'Cesar Chavez'.
Jason Rice, says:
Oh, it will happen.
It's harmless schadenfreude for the whole family. It's a stupid idea that immediately gets the rubber stamp of "racial equality" in the shadow of blatant divisiveness.
As long as there's money in making a city council squirm, we'll be trying to name stuff after Cesar Chavez.
I think I may owe Spacegoat a beer

Your Anti-Chavez-Pro-Chavez tricks are weak, old man!
Jesus Valadez, says:
I want them to rename a street already cause I'm tired of hearing about this. It seems like the best choice since the street has a crappy name and it goes by Farmers Market. Just change it so we can move on to um... naming a street after me. :D
Tevi lawson, says:
the city asked for it when they threw that bogus poll in just to reject its results...so they gotta deal with it. i actually don't know what the fuss is about. this could have been solved easily from the get go.
Jason Rice, says:
If you think the city brought it on itself, you need to track down these same "movements" nationwide to watch how carefully planned out they really are.
They are not grassroots. They are not spontaneous. They are not accidental.
Just Google "Cesar Chavez (road, street, drive, way)" Happy Rehistory-ing
alexander troup, says:
Wow Jason, why didnt I think of that....that would really piss a lot of people off,but it is a good way to piss off a lot of people...at this point in time I have allowed the folks who dont live here,.....just move in mooch and leave..to piss me off...A/T...Now I am human cat box...
