I know the GnR analogy isn't exact, as they released Use Your Illusion I and II simultaneously, but I couldn't help think of it -- I actually dug myself out of a dismal grade in college econ with extra credit by stumping the professor as to the economic decision matrix behind releasing one double album versus two single.
