Mark Cuban will be in a Skechers Super Bowl commercial

Sarah Blaskovich says:

He's not an investor in the company, he just likes Skechers. Somebody's got to.

DBJ has more.

Teresa Gubbins, staff:

The ad is the target of a boycott and a petition because it uses Tucson Greyhound Racetrack as its backdrop.

Dog racetracks are now illegal in 35 states; six more states have shut them down. Most (All) dog tracks have dreadful records for cruelty to animals. Tucson has one of the worst; a Greyhound group found the animals muzzled all the time, living in wire cages, in darkness, on carpet scraps.

Skechers has a history of using controversy in its Super Bowl ads, so it's not surprising they didn't consider the repercussions of filming at a dog track.

But it's disappointing to see that Cuban is involved.
